Overheard...

Leafing through the catalogue in an Argos shop this morning, my attention was drawn to the young man standing alongside me. He was holding a most angelic looking little daughter, aged about two.

He was chatting about what they could buy for family Christmas presents. As he finished writing down the numbers of items to purchase, he turned to her.

'And what would you like?' he asked.

'Spaghetti,' she replied with a toss of her blonde curls.

Three notable things:

1. As I write I am watching the X Factor. I think that this year they may be concentrating too much on the staging and dancing, to the detriment of the vocals and song choices.

2. I received a lovely floral arrangement yesterday...I thought I might have a secret admirer but no such luck. Son 2 has already shredded some of the flowers!

3. I am looking forward to a very special outing tomorrow...

I hope your outing goes well.
I agree with you on the X-Factor. But who will win this year??

D'you know, I watched the X Factor last night for the first time and I couldn't agree with you more. Simon Cowell was so right in what he said about the dancers. It's about time they cut all that out and got on with the singing contest. I switched over!

I watched it, but so wish someone would vote Same Difference off. I agreed with Alisha going but that pair drive me nuts.
Had to laugh at the roller sakters though.

I'm so glad you all agree about X Factor. I'm not enjoying it so much this year. I think my money is on Rhydian to win because he is probably the one who is most marketable therefore will be promoted most as the series goes on...but is that just me being cynical?

Oh and welcome, Boatwoman!

Hi Cathy. Thank u for the welcome.
I think you may well be right about Rhydian. At first I disliked him for his arrogance, but that seems to have gone, and no one can say he does not have a fantasic voice. I can see him being in big musicals, like Phantom of the Opera etc. I think Beverly also has a good chance. Nikki is very good but not sure whether she has what it takes, time will tell I guess. My vote is on either Leon or Same Difference go next week. What do you think??

Yes I agree those will be the most vulnerable next week. Beverly seems like a lovely lady as well as a great singer, but the older ladies never quite make it to the end, do they? As for Rhydian, I've read that he is nothing like as arrogant as they made out in the early stages...perhaps he was overcompensating or more likely it was the same old reality TV manipulation of the truth?
